Costa Rica Highlights

Day 1: Arrival in San José

Arrival at Juan Santamaría International Airport and private transfer to your hotel.

Lodging: Hotel Fleur de Lys or similar

Day 2: Irazú Volcano - Orosi Valley - Lankester Gardens

At the brink of the crater you will admire the lunar landscape and the impressive cliffs at 3.432m (11.260ft) above sea level. Leaving the volcano, the route takes you to the reconstructed ruins of the colonial Church of Ujarrás and the majestic Cachí Dam and Lake. Later at Lankester Gardens you will enjoy the exhibition of more than 800 types of orchids: the largest in Central America.

Day 3: Braulio Carrillo National Park - Tortuguero Canals

Departure from San José through the Braulio Carrillo Cloud Forest National Park to Guápiles and on through rain forests and large banana plantations to the embarking point. Here you will board the boat to cruise the marvelous canals until you arrive in Tortuguero. Afternoon visit the small  village and the Green Turtle Information Center.

Day 4: Tortuguero National Park - Sarapiquí

Early Sunrise Boat Tour through the small natural canals of the Tortuguero Rain Forest National Park. Its impressive flora and fauna include more than 309 bird species, sloths, monkeys, crocodiles, turtles and more. After breakfast, you will enjoy again the ride through the canals on your way back to the disembarking point and on by road to Guápiles. Connecting transfer to Sarapiquí.

Day 5: Sarapiquí - La Fortuna, Arenal - Hot Springs

Early afternoon, transfer to La Fortuna in the San Carlos Lowlands. Late afternoon, on clear days, you will have the opportunity to see the Arenal Volcano with its almost perfect conic shape. Enjoy the hot springs in this beautiful area.

Day 6: La Fortuna - Manuel Antonio National Park

Departure along the scenic route of La Tigra on your way to San Ramón. Descending the Aguacate Mountains you will arrive at Manuel Antonio National Park and Beaches. In the afternoon, enjoy the exotic beaches and the surroundings.

Day 7: Manuel Antonio National Park - San José

Morning at leisure to enjoy this perfect combination for nature lovers. Discover the rain forest in this unique National Park and enjoy the warm waters of the Pacific Ocean and the beautiful white sandy beaches of Manuel Antonio. Afternoon, you will drive back to San José.

Day 8: Departure from San José

Transfer to the Juan Santamaría International Airport for your return flight.
