Monteverde, a 10.000ha (24.710 acres) private preserve, is
always cold and hum thanks to the rain clouds coming from
the Caribbean. Exuberant forest area with numerous rivers,
2500 different plants, trees covered with moss and ferns
that protect the home of different exotic frogs, 100 mammals
and the resplendent quetzal (one of the 400 species of birds
to be found here). In the 1950’s, a group of farmers named
“Quakers” founded Monteverde, which is today a charming
little town.
